Texas BYC Cafe

At the beginning of this year, my husband said we could remodel the kitchen.  I had the paint, backsplash, countertop, etc. picked out.  We somehow got sidetracked and are trying to get a new roof on.  One of these days.....

Lisa :)

We don't have a garage on this house and it's a must so I'm NOT going to let mine get off track! Lol this has to be done! So to add on the garage we have to tear into the side of the house where the kitchen so it's only logical to redo the kitchen. Lol

I had a Rhode Island Red that was the dominate roo in the group but we just relocated him the rir was to aggressive for us....My silkie was one out of 5 and the older hens were with the rir and we recently just mixed everyone and the rir is gone now so hopefully my lil silkie roo will come out of his shell

He should if he is now the alpha male!! He should be good to grow and crow! Lol

I don't trust pits. I've read too many stories of them turning on their owners. One was a little 6 year old boy who loved his pup to bits. When the dog was 18 months old it attacked and killed him. The boy loved his dog and never mistreated him. He wasn't being trained for fighting. He was a pet. A pet that killed his 6 yr old master.

Maybe a mix is better though. I don't know. There could be inner conflict going on. Not that Labs are better. They are getting so inbred it isn't funny. They attack their owners too. Our friends' daughter had a lab that badly bit her owner (adult lady) in the face when she was petting him. She got a lot of stitches.

OK, I'll get off my soap box now.

If you get the puppy I would put it in the run. You won't have to worry about the chickens then. ;)
That's so sad

I have seen stories.
I'm a firm believer in genetics and "how ya raise 'em"
I try and remember that with every dog, but I have to admit, I have a hard time still with chows.
You can have a sweet puppy but if the parents were aggressive, there's not much trust there at all.
I've just known to many sweet pits, and Josh has experience with them, or else I wouldn't consider it. I know how stubborn they can be.
We'll see, but if we do, I'll definitely use the run.
Our schedules right now only leave the animals alone for about 3 hours a day, so it's not terrible.

'Only logical' are the key words!! My husband is an engineer and it has to be 'logical'.

It's very logical! Go for it and get exactly what you want. The chance may never come around again. :)

I am a firm believer in genetics too. How you raise them somewhat. Actually a lot. But if you have a poorly bred dog you can only do so much. So many pits have that fighting gene in them these days. I think of them as time bombs waiting to go off.
I am very picky about my German Shepherds too. That is why I am so glad to have found an awesome breeder. Her dogs are healthy and mentally sound. :) I want another puppy.....

The insurance company is going to pay for Nathan's car to be fixed. He doesn't know the amount he will get yet though. He still needs to settle with them.

I bet the people who hit him are a wee bit mad right now. Probably surprised too. They really thought they weren't at fault. lol!

Well my logical and his is different a lot but I think we both agree on this one! Lol

I love it! I'm a big "Big Bang Theory" fan, the tv show.... And that reminds me of that and all those years of growing up watching Star Trek. Lol

I think it will be just fine for the summer and fall until we get the main coop built where all of them can stay to gather under one roof but with out the pecking threat. Lol
