It was cold here this morning neighbors. Around 24 degrees I believe, supposed to be 26 in the morning. Much too cold for Texas in the middle of November.

My nipple water bucket was froze this morning. Just some on the top and the nipples didn't work, so I made the cookie tin heater today at work. I'm hoping that will be enough to keep the nipples open. I have it out in the coop now, so we'll see how it goes in the morning.

Added some toys for the chickens to play with.

Added/changed the run roost and put in a tether cabbage. They really enjoyed pecking at the cabbage.

Your babies are all grown up! The coop looks great too. Have you seen the swings people make out of a small log for chickens? I've read they love them. I want to try one. I need better tools. lol!

It's been way to cold for November here. I'm hoping that means spring comes really early, but I doubt we will be that lucky. My house doesn't have insulation in the walls, drafty single pane windows (I've tried to fix that to no avail) and not much insulation in the attic. I am not enjoying this weather! Next week we are back in the 60's again. Finally!

I haven't seen the swings, but sounds like a fun idea! I may have to try and make one when we get the outside run finished.

I bet it is cold with no insulation! My house can be cold since we have stained cement floors on the first level. I love them in the summer, but come winter I always think about changing them.

Found these Pumpkin recipes today. I made the Pumpkin bread earlier, it was yum! I added pecans to one of the loaves, it made it crumbly, but was good. I want to make the Pumpkin cookies next.

Before.... .... and after.

It's been a cold, wet, crappy kind of day today. Too early in the year to be this cold. What happened to Fall????

We got a bit of snow last night! The ! is for shock, not excitement. If I wanted to have snow in November I would live farther north. :/ I'm so glad the weather is returning to normal in a couple of days.

Kim - here is the swing tutorial. When I make mine I am going to put a spacer log about 18-24 inches up from the swing log so the rope will go straight up before angling in. You could also just attach both ropes to whatever you are hanging it on so it is like a real swing.

The post office managed to destroy 2 of the gifts (vintage, one of kind) that I ordered for Christmas. One was a gift for me but the other was for my mom. I am so upset! The lady I bought them from has been super about it and refunded my money within hours of me telling her about the damage. The box had all kinds of stickers on it saying GLASS HANDLE WITH CARE, and FRAGILE. The box arrived with a huge gash in it. She used tons of bubble wrap and packing paper too. I can probably glue the one item but it won't be able to be used for its intended purpose and I'm pretty sure the other is beyond repair.

I found a new gift for my mom today. Last year I saw a blog about making scarves out of vintage hankies so I decided to make one for my mom. I found some cute vintage hankies from a lady on etsy that lives 'just up the road' from me in Anna. All I need to do is stitch them together. :) They can't break either! I know she will love it. She is always cold and this will be a nice weight scarf to wear indoors.

I'm back to having all my Christmas shopping done now. :)

What is everyone doing for Thanksgiving next week?

They're big!

My 11 wk old babies did fine last night, and with the snow this morning!
I wish I could have gotten pictures: one of my Russian babies, the same one who figured how to get out of the run, thought the little bit of powder we got would be great for bathing. She changed her mind after the first fluff. Lol.
