The weather was beautiful here yesterday. Got a chance to do a little gardening and plant some onions.
Come on spring!

Gorgeous! Is that cabbage? Looks like great soil, straight rows and no weeds. Gotta be proud of that!
Thank you.
Yes, There are 5 cabbage plants. The rest is mustard greens, collard greens, turnips and onions. So far it has survived the few cold snaps we have had down here.
I add a lot of compost from the coops. It has really improved the soil over the last two years.

We had fresh collard greens and homemade chicken pot pie for supper tonight.

I just transplanted my lettuce outside on saturday. There is potatoes in the ground as well. The lettuce and potatoes are under row cover and plastic. I put turnip, spinach and radish seeds out unprotected (a few days ago). We will see what (if any of it) survives this winter.

What a difference a few hundred miles makes. What is it looking like now?

Thanks for your interest! Here is the garden today. Sorry the picture is not very clear. The potatoes are the biggest thing in the garden right now. The lettuce did fine and have been eating a lot of it. The tomatoes are starting to take off. Snap peas are 2 ft tall in the back. swiss chard, kale, spinach are also going. I planted squash a few days ago. Alas, I just heard it will get down to 36 on tuesday. I took away all the row cover a few day ago and now I will have to go back and cover the tomatoes and squash so they won't get "stunted". (Like rosanna anna danna said "It's always something")

That is a beautiful garden! How do you keep it so lush and green? I water every night and my garden isn't half a healthy as yours! Advice would be greatly appreciated, I am in San Antonio TX.
