Thank you, thank you...I'll be here all week....

I have a son, a daughter, a son in law and soon to be grand-baby in Houston....So I'm regularly in Houston

; but, I live about halfway between Waco and Austin.

I went upstairs to check on Lucky. The light was on in the room, so I shut it off. We just changed out her heat source from the 250 watt red light to the 100 watt ceramic emitter. So, when I turned off the light, it went dark in the room. She came awake with a start and started chirping like crazy. I mean, she is going insane. Mike just went up there and turned the light on for her and she stopped chirping....my silly bird wants a night light.

I swear, the more I see these birds from Iduma, the more I'm convinced they are Wynadotte x Modern Game....These aren't the best photos; and, I'll try to get better. But, look:

It is really, really hard to capture the disproportionate leg to body ratio going on. And, the wing structure is just....off. So weird. Texasmja, I so wish I had room in my incubator to hit you up for some of your eggs! If you wind up doing a culling, let me know. Maybe I'll take some of your culls off of your hands so my husband can see an actual Laced Wyandotte!

(not like I need that excuse; but, it's better than "cuz it's pretty!")

Well hello all! I'm pretty far south in Texas in good old Corpus Christi, Raising our first 6 chickens, with another 12 in the incubator. Perchance anyone near me have silkie chicks?
Welcome to the group. I love anyone who knows how to use the word 'perchance'. I used perambulate, last night, and I thought my husband was going to swoon.
