Texas

well.. i had some unexpected visitors today.. out of the mixed batch of eggs an iowa blue and a california white were hatched when I got up this morning.. so had to move that batch over to the incubator I'm using as a hatcher... I was planning on doing that later today.. but the little freezer campers decided to show up a bit early.. lol

lol.. that's why i don't grab a rattler without a snake stick! (I also know cottonmouths, copperheads and coral snakes and so on by sight.. so that helps too

as for how many to give her.. just start popping them under her and see how many she can cover comfortably.. I wouldn't go over (though so you will still have half for the bator (they will probably send extras.. so you get the idea)

I have seen all of the snakes mentioned except for the coral snake. I have only seen that one in books and the Zoo. One thing I noticed Texas doesn't seem to have and that is the ringneck snake. I used to see them all the time in Indiana and Oklahoma. They made good pets!

I'm not one to eat snakes but they killed this big coral snake at my babysitters day before yesterday!

well.. it was bound to happen sooner or later

My husband has been gone for a bit (afghanistan).. then came home wounded.. so I've been letting him take things easy.. and he's not used to the new routine as to letting the dogs out so close to the ducks new pen

well.. last night I asked him to let the dogs out for the night

pretty harmless.. or so I thought

****** if one of the dogs didn't get ahold of one of the ducklings and this is what I found this morning... yup.. poor little fella was drowned in the dog's water tub

sad thing is.. it was Rhiannon's favorite.. poor little bugger shall never quack again...

(please notice the sopping wet plush fluffiness.. and the attached butt tag......)

The funny thing is, I saw the bucket with the stuffed animal in it and wondered why you were posting it....then I actually read the post and it cracked me up.

Thanks, Lacy. I really love how it's coming together, too. They are doing a superlative job.

My little chihuahua has this thing about her pink monkey....it's truly a pink monkey. She has to take it with her outside when she goes. She will run around the house in a panic if she can't find it to go outside. We're trying to teach her to "get her baby" when we go back inside so we don't have to go out and get it. We've already run over one of them with the lawn mower...and, they are nearly impossible to find anymore. I've tried other stuffless animals with her...no go. She wants that pink monkey. **shakes head** she's a pill.

This is the little princess and her pink monkey: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=4592313642202&set=vb.1122964296&type=2&theater

Quote: Rhiannon was like that with her quacking duck (it did quack.. any idea how hard they are to find?).. but she didnt insist on taking it outside most of the time.. instead she would drag it everywhere in teh house.. onto my pillow at night.. you get the idea.
but apparently one of the others decided it needed a bath.. or a drink.. all I know is now it's a soggy quackless mess
