yup.. basically you keep them drunk until they can work the antifreeze out of their systems.. crazy huh?
BUT it only works if given (preferably as an IV drip) soon after ingestion.. before the antifreeze has had a chance to be processed through the liver

Otherwise depending on how much antifreeze the dog has swallowed it can be dead in about a week or less


usually if it's been less than 2 hours they will induce vomiting first.. try to get as much out of the gut as possible


btw.. antifreeze poisoning hits cats much faster than dogs.. a cat can develop kidney failure is as little as 12 hours..



(note.. do not try to treat antifreeze poisoning at home since the amount of everclear or vodka needed will vary depending on the size of the animal)

New pup is doing good.. she is super smart (learned to shake hands at 4 weeks of age within about 10 seconds of me showing her what I wanted her to do).

For now she is a house pup..learning how to act around chicks and ducklings.. staying within the fence comes later!

We went last night and got us one and they are smart, if you look under new baby geese I posted pictures of her. My goodness 400 birds that must keep you busy and then some!!!
