I have
400

Wheaten and Blue wheaten Ameraucana eggs in the bator now, just put them in today! I only plan on keeping one of these that hatch and selling the others, I'm outside of Dallas, I'd be willing to raise them to 3 weeks if you are interested!

Yup, am interested! I will actually be up that way in Sept. I bought wheaten eggs. But only 3. So knowing my luck they will all be Roos. *sigh*

You know I wouldn't mind ordering hatchery birds, if you only needed to order like 10. I don't need 25. Lol. I know my other issue is I want adults. They are more fun to look at and play with.

Ideal has a $25 minimum not a 25 chick minimum. Hatchery quality but healthy chicks.

I understand, I wont order hatchery birds ever again, the quality just isn't there, and they dont look as pretty as breeder birds, and I too don't want 25! These eggs came out of Georgia, shipped so who knows how my hatch rate will be, but pm me a little note so I remember to pm you when ( fingers crossed ) they do hatch! Here are some pics of the line I bought them from

Ooooo prettyyyyy

I had some older hens I bought that I am sure were hatchery, since they said they bought them at a feed store. And they just weren't as pretty as the birds I bought from Melissa Rose. Speaking of, anyone heard anything?going to call her tomorrow if I remember.

She has welsummers.........and marans

Good Morning!

I received an e-mail from Murray McMurray Hatchery yesterday and they are offering 4 week old chicks and you can order just one. They are a bit pricey. For example the Buff Orpington was $16.00.

Showbarnmom and fowlmouthgirls: You guys are funny!! I don't think I want to take a shower with my chickens.

Lisa :)

I just checked again and it is $25 but they may include males for warmth unless you purchase insurance.
This time of year, I can't imagine that they'd add any males for warmth! I've gotten chicks from Ideal twice - first batch was 15 and the second was 7. It was only a 2 hour drive, so I figured I'd save on shipping and go pick them up myself. Took my Dad to drive back so I could hold the box and ooh and aah at the chicks!
