What are you trying to do to me???? Actually I just read up on them, pretty intriguing. They are good for weeding, love grass, love to talk, will let you know if an intruder is around, and they are good layers (lay 40-60 eggs a year). The down side is they can live 20 years or longer.

You can have them!

Not sure, but DH is contemplating getting more BBWs.

I have 6 (hatchery) African geese, at least that's how they were sold to me, but I can't really tell the difference between Africans and Brown Chinese. My 6 are only 3 months old, but they will mow down some weeds. And they are SUPER chatty - and loud. Lots of fun though. We live beside a large pond and their function is to hopefully help keep the snakes away from my house.

I have a neighbor with White Chinese. Hers are 18 yrs old.

I picked up some hens the other day and the lady said hers was a smooth. *shrugs* I have no idea at all about geese.
