Texas

Does anyonethat know where I can get just a couple arucanas at here in Central Texas! My wife wants a couple of them those green eggers?

as far as true rumpless auracaunas, i have yet to see a breeder around here, unless im just over looking someone. If all you are looking for is green/blue eggs alot of us have Easter Eggers or Ameracuana crosses...the names can get confusing at times, i know.

I got three Araucana hens from Yinpu. They lay pretty blue eggs too! I didn't think to ask her if she has anymore, but I think she`s planning to hatch more chicks.

We are having a Texas stye tea party with the chickens today. Ice sweet tea for me and the girls with watermelon to be shared with the chickens! Then my girls want to play mad scientist and try the potato rose rooting experiment from Mumsy`s garden thread! Hopefully they will be all tuckered out at bedtime tonight!

Ok thanks for the info! Ok let me say this I would like to find a couple of Easter eggers in the Central Texas area. Auracana or Americauna, green/blue egg layers. Chicks or full grown! Anyone help?

Frost Homestead has some really nice chicks for sale. You can find her here or on FB. She also has an ad on the Austin CL. My friend in Seguin has some, said he has 10 left. I also saw that the people in Burnet have some again, too.

Araucanas and Ameraucanas lay blue eggs. Araucanas are pretty rare because the tufted ear gene is lethal and they have hatching problems.

I think you are looking for Easter eggers, which are a crossbred chicken that lay blue to green eggs. Araucanas and Ameraucanas are a breed of chicken. The Easter eggers are often better laying hens than either Araucanas or Ameraucanas since a superior egg laying breed will be crossed with a breed that carries the blue egg laying gene.
