That is the bad thing about rain when it's so hot.  Then it gets hot and extra muggy.  It's bad though when I dump out old chicken water and it is swallowed up by the cracks in the ground because it's been too dry.

It's actually been raining here on and off for about a week. Luckily, we have bats living in the pillar that is on our patio, so they take care of the water that we have for our dogs. We stopped putting water in the coop when it got really bad out there.

Haha, yeah, I suppose we do! This is the second year they've come to have their babies. It's really cool, but I think I'm going to have to build another area for them that won't be so close to the house. We are enclosing the patio, but I still want them to have a place to live.

There's a bat conservation place here in Texas, so I'm thinking about getting some information from there. They have blue prints for bat houses that I'm pretty sure are free.

It is a trait that wasn't valued by the commercial breeders, primarily. It's been bred out of them.

Ours go straight to it too! And I think the hens just get annoyed, kinda like us if we are doing the laundry and swat at DH. Man I am busy, can't this wait?
