BIL is ok, according to my husband. Scratches and bruises, but they are taking x-rays right now. He was driving my husbands old Tundra, which he was driving because he wanted to get rid of his little bitty coupe sports car (can't remember what kind it was right now.) Thankfully, he was driving the truck. However, truck is totaled now :( The truck was a 2000 year model, and survived 170k miles from my husband, then me, and now he's brother, lol. Max is probably hiding, because he's a scardy cat. But I am hoping someone finds him. He's a rescue, and my BIL has only had him since the summer. And I worked my tail off to find my BIL a cocker spaniel :(
Hopefully Max is chipped. In Austin they do it before you can take them home....but it has to be registered by the owner.

Poor Max!! :(

I'm glad your BIL is going to be okay, though.

He was a private rescue, but he was recently neutered, but I have no idea if my BIL had his microchipped. I'm not exactly best of friends with my in-laws. I didn't marry the favorite child. Sorry, that was catty :(

Why does the clay cause foundation problems?

The earth under the house foundation cracks which causes the foundation to crack and shift.  There are some homes that the entire wall will crack all the way up...not seams from the sheetrock, but ripped apart cracks in the wall.

I just came in from getting the chickens ready for the cold.   They all have plenty of food, water and fresh cedar shavings for the young ones to keep them as dry as possible.   It's 37 here and drizzle/sleeting but not sleeting hard enough to really notice unless it's hitting you in the face...which it did, me.   It must be too cold for the chickens to bicker because they were soooo quiet!  Even the roo's were not crowing.
My husband came out after about an hour and a half and wanted to know if I was okay...I said I was and then he went back in to continue his nap.  :duc

My sister sent me some coffee from this little roaster in Rappahannock County, VA.   We drove through this little town and the smell of coffee was...like Heaven.  This one is Sulawesi Toraja and it made a great little warm up capp.   I am not a coffee connoisseur but I wish I were!

I'm making chili tonight....what are y'all making?

I was raised in Garland-blackland :barnie cracks would get 6" wide in our backyard in the summer. Made spagetti tonight after cleaning & bedding 6 horse stalls before the rain started up again. 34* right now & raining again :hit

Oh no.  Is your BIL alright?  I hope you find Max soon.  Poor guy is probably scared.  :fl

Glad your BIL isn't too seriously hurt, Poor Max, it's raining here right now pretty hard-thundering too :(

Hey San Antonio people - My brother in law rolled his truck tonight, off Kyle Seale Parkway and loop 1604. He had his dog, Max, in the truck with him, and now Max is missing. If you are around that area, please keep a look out. Max is a rescue, and maybe hiding. Max is a tan and white cocker spaniel (picture at link below.)

What an awful day to be lost! I hope he is found and given shelter by someone.

Ms Jellybean I have your crusty bread recipe in a bowl waiting until tomorrow to bake but I think I made it to runny :th will that keep it from rising properly? :fl

My woodstove has been cranked up all day

I used to have that exact copper kettle with the blue/white porcelain handle! Unfortunately it met its demise about 25+ years ago when I left it on the stove for about an hour. I melted the spout off!!

If it helps, I think ms. Jellybean's bread recipe is based on a poolish fermentation method and it's supposed to be loose. Most of those types of bread with the large holes, chewy but moist texture use a poolish method.

Edited: I didn't mention how wonderfully cozy that setting looks! Fat cat included!! :D.
