I have exciting news to share!

I got to ride my bike OUTSIDE today! After three rides in the trainer that was quite welcome. I am only 45 miles away from hitting 6,000 miles on the bike for the year now!

I entered a contest on a blog last week and I found out a few minutes ago that I am the winner! I am so excited! I can't wait to get the books, especially the chicken keeping one. There are ideas for coops and how to build them in there.


I asked my neighbor about the falcons and he doesn't know what kind they were, but the guy photographing them was doing so for the Audubon Society. He took photos every week. We haven't seen them around lately. I wonder if they migrated... Still need to find the photo. I have many thousands on the computer and hundreds to go through from this past summer.

I decided on a paint color for my door. I'm going to paint it Wednesday when the weather is going to be AWESOME!

My brother in law lost his dog, Max, in a roll over accident about 2 weeks ago. We found Max about 3 days later on the side of the road, deceased. Not sure from injuries from accident or from being hit by a car.

Doing a little catching up with y'all. We were in Southern California for a week (it was cold there too), and I've been busy signing Chickenn Poop over the past week. This is yesterday amidst the poinsettias at our local Farm Patch.

I have a 6 month old Barred Rock. If I am not out there when the hens go to roost, she will roost in a tree unless it is already below freezing, then she goes into a coop. Will she be more prone to roost in the coop when she starts laying in a nesting box?

Any one have a breeding project going on?

I have some heritage rhode island reds in the bator. I also have some cloumbian rocks that I cross with the reds for sex links the pullets are great layers and the cockerls are really fast growing meat birds . I hatch a few olive eggers just for color in the egg basket each year. what projects do you have going?
