Texas

Well, I was sent home today with a fever. Yep they even send the teachers home sick sometimes. When my youngest came home we went out to see the hens. I love that she can go pick them up.

What are other friendly breeds? Going to get two more hens in March, and I'm looking for three things: good layers, colored eggs (brown or otherwise), and friendly.
Hope you don't get really sick. Get elderberry and take 3x's the does on the bottle. It works best if you start taking it when you first start to come down with something. It may be a little too late to you. It could help you from getting the full version of what you are catching/caught.

I used this resource to help me chose my chickens I want to get. I looked for above average productivity and personality. I also want colorful eggs that I can sell the extras of, so lots of browns for me. I think it is so funny that people will pay more for a colored egg. They are all the same inside. :)

I read an article on egg color the other day. I want to get some Olive Eggers now. Green outer shell, blue inside. I could use that for a craft I think,,,,

Wildlife folks told be to set the l I very trap and relocate the coon. Tried it last night. That rascal ate the cat food without tripping the trap. Tonight I am going to tie the bait down.

The good news is that s/he knows where food it and will come back inside the trap.

Well Friday is the best day for a teacher to get sick. Use this weekend to rest and recoup.

I've been kinda keeping up with what you've said you wanted. Lol. And that coop isn't going to be big enough!!! I'm just giving you a hard time! I actually had no idea I'd like them so much. I'd love to have some really dark eggs. Maybe some day

My list keeps getting longer! I have some for now and some for later on the list.

Black Copper Marans lay chocolate brown eggs. Here is a list of chocolate layers for you.

Ms. Jellybean, I made the Apple Cinnamon Bread today. Mmmmmmmmm My husband devoured 1/2 of it in one sitting. Definitely a keeper. Thank you so much!

Lisa :)
:) You are welcome. It is even better the second day.

Yes I read from all these kind people on BYC that the Marian's lay typically the darkest eggs. I have a white egg layer, a brown egg layer, and (fingers crossed) 2 that should lay green or blue. Wouldn't a dark chocolate be so pretty in my basket?

Msjellybean thanks for this site-very informative :)
