You would DIE if you saw how we take care of our bikes.

My husband kept his very expensive carbon fiber racing bike outside in the humid, salty air in the Caribbean.  Things corroded and were replaced.  He never washes it.  You would have a fit!

My bikes are treated no better but they aren't expensive bikes.

I keep my bike inside and take better care of it than I do my car. I got a great deal on it from the local bike shop and the only way I was able to buy it was because I sold my house. I used my escrow refund. I doubt I will ever be able to get another one that is as nice. I can dream though!
oh that'd be helpful, thanks!
Ill do it tomorrow, I just put them up.
Were going to look at a Ford Focus tomorrow.
We'll see! Maybe now that he'll have a car he will get mine fixed! I got pulled over by a bicycle cop today...a bicycle cop!!!
You should ride with him, he was fast! ;) lol!

I have thought about that. I want to ride with fast people so I can increase my averages. When I ride with a group I can average over 18 mph. :) I want to average over 20 mph on the road. I can do that in the trainer now but there aren't hills and wind then.

Computer is still giving me the stink eye. It says no more internet until you take me to a computer doctor. I have a virus and I'm sick quit turning me on! Geez! - So... Still getting on via my cell phone.

Y'all will be happy to know there's officially birds in my yard again!! I have a barred rock rooster, a white guinea, two buff Orpington chicks, and six solid black chicks... Not including the fluffy butts out in the shedthat really enjoyed ggetting let out into their run to play this morning.

As for that repurposed shed I built? I'm planning on filling it with Silver Spangled Hamburgs but I'm on a wait list. So I won't have anything in it until next year? Don't think so buddy! That means I get to put something else in there and build a pen for the Hamburgs closer to time to get them. For now? Barred rocks on the north side, bbs Australorp on the other side. I really wish my computer would work so I can get pictures up. I'll try to get pictures of my mutt chicks and my new mystery chicks from the feed store up in a minute. Did I mention DF left for work before I brought home the rooster and guinea and has no idea they exist yet? ;) Pictures soon if I can get my phone to work!

Also, who had those creamies I saw a few pages back? I'm drooling over them!!! Beautiful additions no wonder your turken is drooling over him.

The feed store babies! Yay!

Thanks for the info. My yard has a fence around it so I think I only need the plastic for chicken control in the yard. The coop/run is all hardware cloth and will be very secure.

Come to McKinney next week and we can go to Shutt'er Down Ranch together. You can get your silkies there. :)

What is the best age to vaccinate for Mareks? Is that one a shot or liquid in the nose?

Bicycles belong in the house. ;) Not joking. I would never put my bike in the garage or a shed. I could never replace it if it got damaged. I have a bike room in my house. It is also doubling as the chicken brooder room now. :)

What did you end up getting?

Oh no!! Hope you find it, alive and happy.
I looked it up and it is only like a little over an hour drive for me from here. What kind of silkies do they have?

A1momof3...I buy my mealworms at petco or petsmart, both sell them. i think I paid 2.49 for 100 but if you buy more they get cheaper.
Very coo!

I bought a bunch and then set up a worm farm for them. My chicks already know where that worm farm is, and if they escape the brooder they try to root around in the big box of meal worms.
That's a great idea, I think I need a worm farm for sure!! LOL

Very cute!

Hi folks. I asked this in the injury forum, but no answer yet.
My new little chicks has its middle toes curled under. Is there anything that can be done to correct this?

I read somewhere a while back about using a pipe cleaner to help straighten the curled toe. You cut the cleaner to toe size, straighten the toe, and attach the cleaner to the toe with a bandage.

How did you get your worm farm going? They make good bait too.

I bought a couple of containers of live meal worms from the local pet shop. I have no idea how many were in them. I use a big shallow tote--the kind that goes under a bed. I put in a few pounds of rolled oats. I sometimes buy oat bran and wheat germ for them. I'll throw something like a slice of potato, a banana peel, slice of fruit or a bit leaf for water. I try to only feed them with reasonably good food. I think you can raise them on wheat bran. The trick is not to get it too humid--mold and humidity will kill the whole colony. I let them multiply for awhile before I harvested any. They will do a lot better now it is warmer.

I use the "deep litter" method for them and don't clean it. It is getting gross with all the shed skins and dead beetles/larvae that I really want to clean it out. It is only two or three inches deep at the most. Shallow is better for them.

I need to set up another colony in case something goes wrong with the one, I'll always have another.

Come on up A1momof3! We'll make it a field trip!

Sorry, my spirit has been broken this evening. My oldest Son moved back home last fall and is working to save money and get this ducks in line so to speak. He will be 20 this year and he and his girl friend are getting married May or 2015. The have been dating for 2 years and ..... well long story short, it's been a bad night and my nerves are shot. Luckily he leaves to go back to work tomorrow for 2 weeks, (we are a oil business family.) So my youngest son who is 18 (and MUCH calmer) and I will have a few days of calm and happiness without any ill tempers. LOL I just can't stand negative mind sets and gripping. LOL

Ok, I'm done whining. Someone give me some cheese. LOL

So yea, I hope we can come up with a day that works. A day trip filled with fluffy little balls of joy would be just what I need.
