That is very cool and I think it could hang on the outside of the cage. I know hubby could rig up a hanger. I go thru their formula by the gallon. Cheap enough too. Thanks
It comes with a hanger. No rigging needed. :p Super easy to fill and they don't leak.

Beautiful day out there. Bluebonnets blooming all over the place. Red clovers, black eyed Susan's, morning glory, all sorts of beautiful flowers. Or, there was.... Haha. The horses ate all my flower buds when I wasn't paying attention earlier. That's what I get for leaving the garden gates open!!

The chicks, the teens, Lyle and Larry are all playing in their pens enjoying this wonderful sunshine after five days of rainy mess. Although with all the clouds forming, and the sudden raise in humidity, I think we've got another storm brewing. My hair seems roo think we've gone back to the eighties...

There seems to be a holier than thou in every group. I am here to continue to grow my knowledge of my hobby. there is always something to learn. No one knows it all. the second reason for being here is maybe my experiences will help another. We can't stop irresponsible owners, but we can educate them to the best of our ability to possibly improve the animals life.

Note to self ! Never wear flip flop and throw mac and cheese in chicken coop with a tablespoon cause when it flings back on ur toe there is no time to react before mommas little darlings are all over ur toes :)

Ok BYC friends, I have friend that is looking for these Frizzles!

I know nothing about this breed. Can y'all tell me what Frizzle this is and do you know where in Texas he can get them? He works in Houston area, lives in Dallas and visits Odessa from time to time. Do you know of anywhere in those areas??
They look like little figurines! lol

I will get caught up on posts, maybe tomorrow

I'm in the North Dallas area just outside of Allen. I'm new to this, but somehow jumping in with both feet.
Very exciting! :)
Susan
Welcome from McKinney!
I have family off Bethany and friends in the older part of town

Marshall Texas, I'm brand new to chicken raising ... Love it so far ...Mine are only two and half weeks old......I have 2 Cuckoo Marans, 2 Ameraucanas, 2 Barnevelders, 1 Speckled Sussex, 1 Golden laced Wyadonette , 1 Columbian Wyadonette ...
Welcome! I don't have ANY of thosebut I love the feathering on the GL wyadonettes

Trying these out today. I've been seeing a lot of cookie recipes made with cake mix so I thought I would give them a try.

I can hear someone's chickens. Not sure which neighbour it is, they also have a rooster. :) I love that I can have the windows open and hear all the birds chirping - even the chickens. Can't wait to get my own....
Laurie!
I made THE BEST chocolate mint cookies with cake mix. So easy and melt in your mouth. I just did the chocolate cake mix then stuck an andes mint on top as soon as I took them out of the oven!
OH! and the landlord will be down this weekend! I thin k he's going to fix the oven!

Just in time for summer when I wont want to bake...lol
By the way, if you ever need some chicken therapy..my Pearl just loves to sit on laps and snuggle...lol

Some of the babies :)

Cuties!

Ms Jellybean, since you have no idea when you will be able to get your chicks why are you still contacting breeders and making arrangements to get chicks? You have gone back on your word for so many chick orders I've lost count. Let me see if I have it right: Silkies, Cream Crested Legbars, Gamesandmore's Ameraucanas, at least two sets of Marans. Now Olive Eggers.

When you contact a breeder they go to a lot of effort to get back to you. When you contact them with no intention of buying, you are just wasting their time. I've been involved in show dogs for a few decades in the past. I and other breeders got really were annoyed when people would reserve a pup and then not follow through.

Personally I don't think you have or ever had any intention of getting chickens and are just enjoying your fantasy here on the Texas forum. I'm done with wasting my time answering any of your queries. I hope you prove me wrong because you could be an asset to the forum.
I feel like you were asking her all those "when" questions just so you could pick a fight...
We appreciate your smarts on here..but it's really not necessary to call people out, especially when it's something they have no control over.
I know it's your right to have opinion, and to voice them, but it's only fair to do it in a constructive way, with some tact.
If you don't know the struggles someone has been through, which is almost impossible via only internet, it's not fair to judge so harshly.
Why would she buy feed, order a heating plate, and set up a brooder if she never had any intention of getting chicks?

I'm not trying to be rude. I guess I just don't see why its so difficult to just shrug it off, instead of attacking someone via a forum...Especially someone who's never reacted harshly towards you.

And I don't think she has anything to prove to anyone. No one else seems to have a issue

Yay, got my ship date - April 30th!

Minimum order was 25 and I only want around 8-9 hens, so there will be some extras to get rid of in a few months when I can tell their gender. All bantams - silkies, easter eggers, dominiques, and buff orpingtons.
Congratulations! Chicks are always exciting

I certainly don't agree or even appreciate many of your attitudes or opinions but nobody treats you this ugly. We scroll on by. There is no excuse for rude behavior. this is not the jajeanpierre thread

I don't like chocolate chip cookie. I made them for my son. :)

That is a cool looking bug. I've never seen one like that before. Except on Animal Crossing. ;)
I'm not a chocolate chip cookie fan either, but I do like those.

Thanks! I thought it was really cool.

Yea!! More chicks! Bantam Orps are so cute! Just little fluff balls!

Thanks Ms Jellybean I am just glad Odessa is to far to drive to pick up chickens!!! Also glad my wife does not look on here cause I would be driving to Odessa this weekend lol. The only way she knew about the ones I got yesterday was she was sitting beside me when I read about them and I read it out loud.
You need to learn the art of mind reading, no lips required!!!

You better get to work on those "other" coops. Looks like you might be getting more than your "50" birds! :)

Finished painting my 2nd roost earlier. It's sitting in the barn drying. Clouds are rolling in, getting darker and we've had a few raindrops.

I wish this weather would make up its mind rain or dont rain. We need the rain but I rather it be one or the other not couldy one minute and sunny the next. Dont know if I should work in garden or stay inside
