Good morning....hope everyone is well today...chickens included!

Had a brief panic attack this morning. Went down to let everyone out and check the little ones only to find one missing.
My heart was beating fast from fear of finding a little bloody body. With 20 big birds I didn't think it had a chance. Well, surprise. It was the sweet little maran.. The hens had dug around the bottom of the circle pen and she found the way out. She was sitting on the water pipe looking out the only opening in the plastic. Either the big kids didn't see her or didn't care. Panic averted..she is just fine and wanted back in for breakfast. She came to me and I just picked her up. Yeah!!

Handsome dog! We've had two pits. DH had a brindle and white named Harley for 15 years. We also had a red pit named Skeeter (sadly lost her some years ago at age 6 because of a brain tumor) still miss her sometimes. She was the sweetest dog. They are so smart...both of our pits make my lab and boxer seem dumber than a box of rocks. LOL

i have pics of the new silkies chicks the only problem is that they are black and for some reason they do not show up very clear. Did not notice until this morning. On of them had sprayed leg had to hobble it to see if it gets better.

Solid dark chicks never seem to photograph as cute as they are in person! Your group looks cute though! Hopefully the splayed leg straightens out!

LOL...We call that the "dead bug dog" pose! Scooter, our blonde lab does that alot...tooo funny!

Sorry u lost her that sucks. And yeah they are very smart I give them that. And loveable to but max is alittle on the lazy side lol

@ABlackDogRanch, if you don't mind taking a road trip to Waco, I've got a ton of sand in my backyard where a playground once was that you could have. Come haul a truckload!

TEXAS STRONG AND PROUD. I'm in a town inside of Houston called Bellaire. I'm new to chicken life but excited and ready to learn. I would like to know more about any Texas functions to attend and share info. Haha, I would mostly be listening right now. Is there a Texas group on here that chats and shares?

Looks like Galveston is having their Chicken Shack Strut tour today...I think Austin is having their Funky Chicken Coop Tour today, too. Mostly it is all about urban coops, but I'm sure they will both have nice ideas.
