Hung, is Markie part blood hound?
Sorry I don't know... just a free dog so I just took him and worked him with the chicken.. hope he doesn't like their Blood.

I'm in love!! It's a good thing I don't know where you live or I would snatch that pup up!!!!
are you chickieluver or doggyluver?

You need to be careful with talk powder and babies it goes in to the lungs and can cause serious health problems, I recommend that you take this very serious , get your baby checked, and never allow this to happen.

Sorry the pedi care came out in me! I work at Texas children's hospital!
Agreed. I had cautioned my wife not to use lots of these powder and not to use on the head...otherwise what I bought won't last .... $$$

He is just TOO cute!!! Look at that grin...
Yep, he got grin and gray hair. Maybe we should not tell him about school yet

Good Night

If there is anyone out there that cares, this is what I have built for a newbie to the birdlife!!! I spent 2 and a half weeks of my life on this. Mama is happy and so are her girls. Well, here it is...

Thanks, I have never built a duck house, but if given the design or a pic, I believe I can. I am in the Conroe area and I would rather discuss price privately. I vowed not to try and sell my coops on this thread. That would be tacky. You are more than welcome to PM me and we can discuss it there. The Green area is corrugated fiberglass roofing panel. It is there for natural lighting, lets my ladies know when it is time to wake up.

It's supposed to hold 25lbs of feed. I don't know if holds exactly that much, but comes close. I put almost half a bag in one when I filled it up.

I might have to make a few for my chickens. They make a huge mess at their hanging feeder right now. For a flock Of 20 birds though, that will mean several buckets, lol.

Star there should be no haul away fee. That should be on the owner not you. I guess counties can do what they want but I would investigate that further. Doesnt soud right to me. My mother worked for the the city office in my home town for years and they handeled that. There are state regulations every county/city has to follow. Differnt for each but I've never heard of that. This is a service we pay for as tax payers.

I'll check again. But even if the guy i spoke to lied, and there is no haul off fee, that still leaves me catching and holding onto these dogs. The pack is 8-12 strong right now with a litter on the way. And I would have to keep them away from my dogs and flock until they could pick up, I can't hold on to them overnight.

So I have read that BA chicks can start laying as early as 17 weeks? Anyone know if this is true? At what age should my BR, RIR, SLW, BO, and BA chicks start laying? The BR, RIR, and SLW are 11 weeks old now. The BO chicks are 7 weeks old, and the BA chicks are 5 weeks old.

Star do you happen to know anyone with a hog trap? If so you could bait one and set it for the dogs. The darn traps are usually about the size of a truck bed so conceivably several dogs could get in there at once and they could stay in there until the county (or whoever) folks could come by and get them. Might be more than you want to deal with but I thought I'd throw it out there as an option.
