Your (or your husband's) will is stronger than ours. We probably would have come home with one of each.

It was all him. Lol. I wouldn't have been able to resist alone.
But he has my long-term goals in mind

I had told him I wanted to try some heritage/ better bred birds to compare, and see which is best for me.
Plus he knows I have a growing list of breeds I want. I'd kick myself later if I JUST went off the appearance of chicks..when they'll only look like that for a week lol
And he want's a break from chicks ; had our first batch, then the silkies, then my fosters lol.

Sounds like me. I got an assortment of large brown egg layers at different ages. So far my favorite ladies are my Barred Rocks. I am also liking my Buff Orpingtons and Black Austrlorps. I am thinking about getting some heritage birds to see the difference between them and hatchery birds. I do want some Easter Eggers for fun though.

Welcome!!

Oh gosh, I should get a medal! I went to the feed store and they had a new batch of GORGEOUS chicks: lavender, black, this sweet light light buff color, almost a rosy beige. I hadn't seen any like it before! I managed to walk out with JUST the feed, thanks to hubby lol
Soon!! you are going to be an empty nester and will be craving new chickies in the worst way!

have you tried using another browser? Often I can do one thing in internet explorer and it won't work in Goggle...my kids can only use Firefox when they are working on Blackboard, which is their online classes in college.

no, I don't know if I have another browser. I'm using my tab and I use my phone. It used to let me post but not anymore.

You won't regret some Easter Eggers! Even if I decide I like the more heritage breeds, I will ALWAYS have some EEs in my flock :)

Lol. I really want some EEs! I also want different color Orpingtons, and some more Rocks and Austrolorps. I don't think I will get any more SLW or RIR.

So guess what, I just cleaned the quails housing n gave the draco fresh food and it pours rain.. just my luck.

Lol, don't feel bad. My birds were out, then it started raining and the chickens, ducks, and geese refused to go back in. Now the waterfowl I want too worried about, the fuzzy goslings were easy to put away, and ducklings are still in the nursery. All other waterfowl are fully feathered so figured a wetting wouldn't bother them.but the dang chickens thought they were waterfowl too! Should have seen them running around playing in the rain. I think my chickens are very confused!

Oh, and found another leak in the goose/duck pen. Gotta seal it up too.
