All free range and they're all free to a good home.

Goodmorning. I am laid up in a hospital bed. Broken ribs, broken clavical, some hip bones I have never heard of but I can now tell you where they are. Ouch.Motorcycle accident. It's gone. Will not be replaced, but my husband and I are alive.
Wow! So sorry to hear that! Just glad you both made it through. Praying for a speedy recovery for you both with as little pain as possible!

Okay, its been a while since I have posted, but I have a problem and I need the expert advise of fellow Texas Chicken-heads. I have 13 hens and usually get 8-11 eggs a day. Well, on Wednesday I only had 3 eggs and yesterday was a single lonely egg. What gives? Are the chickens eating them or is something keeping the hens from laying. I'm thinking maybe its heat related???
On that note...i can only speak for us but, our eggs dropped off considerably when it got hot. Out of 14 mature layers we were down to 3-4 eggs a day were getting at least 10. Today we already have 7 and have been hearing egg song all morning. It could be coincidence but we also went to a better feed, however we changed feed over a week ago and the egg count only went up today. so not sure but glad it's improving either way. Hope yours does too.

So sorry about your accident! Glad that you and hubby survived and will be ok. Sounds like you will have some recovery time though. Prayers and best wishes to you both.
DH still has his Honda in the back under a tarp...been there for 10 years now. He wrecked in 2001 and was out of work for most of 3 years from the back and tailbone injury!
He's afraid to sell it to anyone cause it's so fast and powerful (it isn't stock) he's afraid it could get someone killed. Speedy recover to you!

Anyway...just thought I'd say "hey" to everyone and try to catch up 3 weeks back. Going to start clearing garden for fall while it's cool and cloudy. Everything is done but the peppers. Then going to tackle veggies again later. Bought 15lbs carrots and potatoes to put up.
Y'all take care.

I found my missing RIR pullet. She somehow managed to get way up in the rafters of the coop. She also jammed herself face first in a tiny wedge at the very peak of the roof, she couldn't turn around! I think she was stuck up there for a while, poor thing. I got a ladder and got her down, she seemed in good health despite her little hide and seek adventure, lol.

How's the RIR pullet doing? Any lasting damage from her misadventure?
