Ok, I gotta ask... how do folks know this works?? Have they actually seen snakes approach it and turn away?
While I have not actually seen a snake slither up, smell the stuff, turn and slither away I know that a couple of years ago, before we started using it, we had a number of rattlesnakes and one copperhead actually come up on our front porch and into our bird runs. They met their maker and are gone. Once we started using the stuff we have not had any snakes in the yard or around the bird pens. They are there and we have had to kill a couple out in the fields but none in the yard.

I shot the coon thru the eye. That did not kill it so I shot through heart. Coon is dead in pic with my foot in it.

Trust me, I kill predators around here. Thought I had someone who wanted pelt, but they were a no show.

Good to know. My fear is how much it would cost to put around duck pen, house and chicken pen. And then of course the fear of actually trapping some snakes with IN the perimeter. A friend of ours kept getting copperheads on his porch. Then he realized it was his porch light that was attracting a food source for them

Is it going to be a new pet? :)Or are you going to set it free? If my nephew was here and we found little turtle, we would be setting up a turtle eutopia for the weekend.
My niece and nephew have already done just that, lol. They named it 'Speedy Jr.' after my DH. I sure hope the thing lives.

AMEN to that! I waste an entire day, not to mention the gas and frustration, if I have to drive into Dallas to find something that I can't find at Walmart out here in the country.

Be careful doing that. We just found a newly hatched turtle here - it was an alligator snapping turtle. Not exactly a pet friendly turtle.

Also, reptiles (like turtles and snakes) carry Salmonella as part of their regular flora, so, especially if there are children handling it, make sure there's a LOT of hand washing so no one gets sick. (It's actually against the law to sell little baby turtles like that in pet stores specifically because they are most likely to be given to little children who then can get sick...
