Texas

No our Vet pays her employees a living wage and yes her services cost money.
Yea I got it now, my blonde roots were showing. ;)

I have yet to find a good vet that is also cheap. Seems you get what you pay for. The vet I worked for was pretty expensive but the hourly rate was not that great.

I am so sorry to hear she didn't share her success with you. Our Vet is great like that she is an Aggie.
My vet is also an Aggie. Actually most or all vets here are, as A&M is the only vet school in Texas.

Granted, when I started working there I was an unpaid intern and was more than happy to just learn. I had to stop working and focus on college before I got any decent pay, so I can’t criticize them too much. I am still good friends with those vets and I know they would rehire me if I asked.

I can assure you I wasn’t treated poorly. I started working when I was 16, they did me a huge favor by letting me intern under the title of “volunteer work.”

In reality a volunteer can’t do much except work in the kennels. They let me assist in surgery and help with patients, it was a great experience.

And people definitely do intern on Kyle field! I should know, I’m looking into work for when we move to college station in the next few months. Nothing wrong with interning to boost your resume and get those volunteer hours needed for vet school.
