Hey thanks, I never thought of that front flat piece. That's a great idea. I knoticed the back left wall seems to heat up. I was thinking about installing plywood on that side of the coop to reduce the heat coming from the metal.

I would stop getting it wet asap if I were you.
Breeding ground for nastiness.

Are you open on all four sides? I am only open on three with zero fans and my birds do fine. Are you fans all blowing against each other?
Well if you can see from the pics, it's open completely in front, and halfway on both sides.
2 of the fans are attached to the back walls with a large opening. This way they pull the shaded air in and through the coop. I tried putting a fan in the corner next to the solid wall blowing out. That was a waste of time, as it blew really hot air across the coop.

Nice set up! Lots of fluffy chicken butts.:D
Thanks!! I got really lucky to find this great couple who was willing to let me house them there until we find our perfect new house with the enough land for 3 kids, 2 dogs, constantly fluctuating number of chickens, 2 guinea pigs, 2 horses and whatever else I decide to acquire.

This is the exact way I got into chickens...my first ones were housed in a coop very similar to this on a friend's land.

I hope you find your forever place soon.

Are you going to try out the foam board things?
The worst of our heat is almost over so maybe you could work on adding it before next summer.

might try using the fans for neg pressure. (box fans have little power to do much from that distance.) Might even be better for positive pressure once you remove that front facing strip from the roof. Put the fans right below the opening not even need the insulation. and blow air upward towards the opening. Since the heat rises, would go right out the top vent. I'd try that before spending the money on the insulation. It might be sufficient.
