One of my favorite pullets, a runty OEGB, decided to go broody a couple weeks ago. Since then, she has started limping more and more. I checked her out several times and nothing feels wrong with the bones and joints of the "hurt" leg, although yesterday her muscles in the leg seemed very tight and perhaps swollen, so my thought is she is getting stiff from sitting and/or losing circulation in the leg (blood vessels that I could see looked fine but the nails in that foot are not growing as much and are darker). I am trying to decide if I should let her sit it out another week until she has her babies - at which point she may not be able to adequately care for them - or try to break her broodiness and preserve her health and mobility. I think I know the best option, I'm just looking for more opinions. I have three other broodies I can give her eggs to.
