Kids asleep. Just enough high altitude clouds to make "light pollution" too big a hurdle to leap to see the solar sail 2. But, not the ISS - IF I were to stay up.

So here's a cheater of a couple screenshots with a cute free app showing planets and constellations.... Above our roof looking Southeast (Mars in upper left of image & our neighbors translucent bathroom window in lowerr right just above red horizon line)

and south west (Jupiter & Saturn directly above their actual twinkling orbs just above our roof line).

"Good night @AllenK RGV & sleep as relaxed as possible!" -cheers
What are you running? amazing photography for where you live. I was thinking a 10 inch refractor with a DLSR mount. The Format looks it came from a cell phone somehow. I am obviously a bit behind in astronomy photography.

Also why the constellation overlays? We didn't need those in the 80's. We didn't have DLSR's back then either it was a private thing.

It's all on my cell phone, sad to admit.
All my pics posted on this forum & all other forums are via this phone.

The DSLR & astronomy fun I had stopped in '04 when I walked the stage for the 2 BA's..... We do have a .....(scratches head) 10 y/I Canon Rebel DSLR here in the bedroom. It needs cleaning badly. Haven't used it in a couple years because of that need for cleaning, many kiddos, etal.

I still have a 20D and functional 7DMk2 but not a good telescope. Great you found an easier less wallet intrusive way.

The university's 'scopes were a awesome antique tri-scope that was assembled back in the late 60's iirc(I ended up finding out one of the students I taught was the grand kids of one of the guys who actually built that scope - in Ohio all them years ago. 6, 12" Schmidt-cassigrain, a couple dobsonians & a 10+" Neutonian as well. We had a few others too.

I'd love to get ahold of one of them 13" S-C's gawd they were awesome. And with the solar filter to see spots and other stuff too.

Ahhh (heavy sigh) good night dude! (This time for real)

Sleep well fellow geektard!

So we are now just flooding and out of the windfields. Power just returned, it was on at sunrise I guess they had to do major linework somewhere so we were shut off. Emergency alerts fired off a couple of times in the night waking me up the the flash flooding one seemed silly. You only have to look out the window to see that. Both of my redneck rain gauges are about to the rim as well.
