Beautiful bird!So I took a snap of my best looking cockerel (Hen)Black Sumatra/(Roo) Silkie mix. This one is a keeper with no need for hairstyling, Janurary hatchout. He is a whole lot of eye candy in my eyes.

We got lucky I saw 87 on the car readout, and local weather stations. Better than the 90's we were told to expect. So we have had fog and a slight drizzle since about noon today. Here's a slight delayed snap showing what looks to be snowy-sleet-like mess starting to fall around Amarillo and definitely north of that too!

Apparently back in the 1850's red was a very common color to find in Black Sumatra his parents didn't display any of those colors just the iridescent green. My suspected sire for him is a silkie mix who has white streaked black feathers(hackles) and am thinking that the red got repainted there from old genetic code on the sumatra side of things. The colors are truly amazing dude.
