I haven't seen a ton of double yolks. But I can very certainly say I've never seen one that large. But I do remember how big my mother's cornish cross hens eggs were and I can see why a double from them would be an absolute behemoth like that
Where did that happen? It is awful that people would call you cruel and whatnot. I'd suspect heart failure and the egg was exhausting to get out. Most people who die of heart failure die in the bathroom for similar reason. Have you thought about maybe picking up some chicks from tsc? And for future reference, do you have an incubator? We had a large egg before, not as big as this one, it was double yolk. Side note, the bird that laid this egg, passed away lest nit
She weighed 21 lbs, was moving slow, and I don't know cause of death. She was laying with head tucked near her wing. Either heart failure or the egg damaged her, or both.
6 newchicks and 2 cornish x. The cc have soothed my heart from my loss last Sept. I posted on that and got slammed, fussed at, called cruel and other things......
Predator and pest forum on byc. I got 6 babies Wed from tsc. 1 died Wed nite, tsc replaced it Thurs. For inventory they had to charge me a penny. A No incubatorWhere did that happen? Sorry for your loss. I hate it when I lose a good hen. Take pics when you open this please, I would be interested in seeing it. I do get double yolk eggs, but this is huge. I have seen videos of a complete egg within an egg and would be curious to see if that is so here.
No clue. Most of my crowd is in it for the eggs. Small birds give small eggs. I've got quail for that.So you guys think that if I crossed a bantam with a swedish flower and bred for the swedish flower coloring that people would want that? I know that I personally want mini swedes. But I dunno if other people would.
