Texas

Last year we had a 'cold spell' that I hope doesn't get repeated this year!
Except for a few years in Alaska and the Central and South Pacific, I have lived in Texas my whole life. Last year was the first time I have ever seen 'powdered snow' in Texas.
I have seen, shoveled, played, driven, & worked in said snow….. in *North Texas.

This is *North Texas and as such there *is* snow, sleet, ice, feeezing rain & fog, and least we forget to mention Hail!
I’ve been here since fall of ‘95. And the weather has *NOT* stayed the same, it’s only gotten wilder and stronger.
When I lived up there, we had all that too!...plus tornados!
Use to love to watch the thunderstorms coming in from 60 to 100 miles away! Back then, we also had 'Blue Northers' come through....haven't seen a true Blue Norther in many years now!

Yeah, up here on this (actual) hill… seen a few actual tornadoes…. And not just on radar.

I'm ok with the occasional storm lol and colder Temps, in fact my husband will be much happier to know there is chance of such weather's.

It's the constant 40° and rain, or just plain grey days, we get here in the northwest corner of WA that I just can't stand anymore. I need sun, on a weekly if not daily basis lol
Granted this data point is at least 3 years old but, the PNW area around Seattle, WA was seeing an avg 287 days of rain/clouds per year. So, yeah I understand your desire for some increased sunshine on your faces!

It finally broke above freezing (before wind chills) in the last 45 minutes. And humidity is finally half of what it was all last night and well into the morning.

Time to go outside and check the chickens water for ice and stuff…

Expect low of 29°F tonight. Gonna kill the bananas for the second January in a row. The second has just flowered too. No bananas this year. Fiddlesticks & Fudgecicles.

Really upset at losing 2 bunches of bananas but I'm not wrapping a 15 foot tall mass of greenery. Would have to wrap a 15 foot diameter of banana circle to keep it all together. What a mess and high winds to boot.

Maybe the weather prognosticator will be wrong again. We can hope.
