Thank you everyone for all your opinions! i kno some people think taking their chickens to the vet is a waist! hey i do too! im just sayin.... some people treat their chickens as real pets and not just livestock that is replaceable.if my DD came to me with her d' Uccles ill i would take them in to a vet if she asked.... they are her babies! she loves them Adams's lol

Won't do it for my chickens, but if was one of my kids favs, yep I just might

im in an 18 mo program with VTI, i would be interrested to speak to your hubby about externing there! im about 6-7months in.... tough stuff!
If you really wanna come all the way up here to extern, that could probably be arranged. They had tried to get some VT students from Lancaster to do their externships at my hubby's clinic but the students thought it was too far to drive to the East side of the Metroplex. (weenies - we live in the country and commute everywhere) He does get vet school students come for their externships and has a girl that graduated but hasn't taken her DVM boards yet working with him as a vet asst.

Hello new to byc and reside here in Lubbock Texas have a small flock of about 12 chickens and a small flock of 10 ducks 3 horses 4 dogs 2 cats and fish!

I am starting to try and enter the show world and am interested in any breed but my main interests are belgian bearded D'uccles, polish, silkies, and frizzles!!!!! Any in this area??!!!!!

If you still have them I am interested. I posted a PM to you asking a few questions.
Anyone in the Austin area interested in "pet quality" Crested Cream Legbars? I have 2 pairs, make me an offer. Will sell the roos without a hen but not a hen without a roo

I am in South West Austin, willing to meet within a 25 mile radius. They are 22 weeks and should start laying either any day or next spring. Seems the jury is out if they wait until spring for POL. They do have bright red combs and wattles. I am only selling them because I really need to just focus on 1 or 2 breeds and I am in love with my Silver Penciled Rocks and I really like my Barnevelders.

Help! I live out near Fossil Creek near Walnut Springs, Tx. I am trying my best to get internet for my home where I live. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have to drive into town to use the internet to check my byc stuff!

Also, I am looking for scrap wood and fencing to start working on building a bigger coop. Let me know if you have any you want to get rid of.

We use HughesNet since we are out in the country and have been very happy with it. ATT also makes pay as you go air cards for people that don't want to sign an internet contract - got one at Walmart last Christmas for a family member.

I really know how you feel. I can't even get cellphone coverage where I live. I just feel like complaining right now since I'm waiting for a delivery man to deliver my new refrigerator. Grrr. Good luck on your new coop.

Hi! I live in Rosenberg, TX (SW of Houston). We use Internet America. We pay under $100 a month for it.
