Texas

!
Both of my only Rosecomb roosters just died in the past two hours from an unknown cause! I have a hen of the same breed so I hope someone has a rooster!
Oh I am so sorry, could it of been the cold?

I am going to the big show at Texas A&M on January 5th.
Wish I could go to that one. Used to live there. But it's too far of a drive these days when I don't have someone to take care of the animals when I'm gone and hubby has to take off work if I'm going to be gone.

Ah Texas. Where there are only two seasons but they happen twice a year: The grass is green, then it's brown, then it's green, then it's brown again. Getting into the winter browns now. Spring it greens up, Summer it's brown again, etc.

I'm full up on space too. Got a nice trio of Buff Orps that will be ready in a couple months to start on. The rest of the flock are almost just pets. They'll be my "layers" and I might turn that buff boy loose on them when he grows up some just to see what we get. They are mostly Orpingtons, got three good sized girls and three hatchery girls. Then the odd dark cornish and a couple sex links. Have one 16 week old "mutt" chick that is looking darned good. Her mom is my chunky black Orp hen and this thing is chunky too. Until I can move to the country that's about all I can do here.

LOL. Love it! My friends that live in other states think I'm crazy when I tell them that our seasons are Hot, Hotter, Hottest, and Christmas.

Anyone in here in the new waverly / huntsville area. Starting my first flock this year and was just curious if there was anyone near by that i could direct some area specific questions at.
