Do silkie shave a hard time roosting? Do I need to make lower roosts? My roosts are I think about.... two foot off the ground? If So I will make another set of roosts for them.

From what I have heard they don't really roost at all. They make something that someone once called a silkie pile. They can't fly so if they can't hop to it they can't get there.

I am going to TRY to get a few broad breasted that I can work with and with any luck if I can regulate their feed.. i MIGHT be able to get breeder birds out of them.. time will tell..


but for this year if you want broad breasted you might have to go to the feed store if you only want a few.

The tom I hatched from you Cindy is soooo very beauteous

! His name is Eddie and he loooooves to strut his stuff

. Fritzy Mitzi my pretty lady has been laying eggs like crazy but until now they have all been infertile

. I have three going strong in the bator right now though so Eddie really is strutting his stuff

awww... I'm glad he turned out nice!

i have noticed where sometimes the boys need to get things sorted out a bit.. call it a 'learning curve"!

Well, the hubby loved his rabbits. I got to hear how they were too cute to kill....this from the man who told me he wanted rabbits for meat. What a silly man.

well right, aside from drinking...ive never raised ducks before and want to one day.....just that one day is alot further along if i NEED a pond...if i can get away with a kiddie pool...might be a little sooner

all of my ducks just use the kiddie pool as well. I have to upgrade the size of my pool though pretty soon to accommodate the ducks and geese I have.

My neighbor's dogs took out 17 of mine.. left me with one breeder doe and a bunch of destroyed hutches and cages.. ...

I'm still not a happy camper about it...
