that won't slow a dog down.. my ducks have gone through it without even trying!

Really, my boss used it with her boxer/am staff mix, she said it worked. Maybe it was just the way it felt to his paws. He is an odd dog anyway

. I don't have an issue with my guys so never had to try it.

People have a hard time grasping the concept of just how big Texas is. We have children and grand children in Kansas and it blows their mind that more than half our trip is spent just getting out of our own state. Same thing applies when going to visit the family in Alabama. We hit the Texas-Louisiana state line and are just over halfway to my parents' house. No exaggeration.

I know. What's the weather in western Texas?
Not trying to be ugly but West Texas is also also bigger than most states so:
Summers---hot, dry and windy
Winter---cold, dry, some snow, some ice
Spring and Fall are about the same, usually nice weather but very short
Winter usually bleeds right into Summer and Summer bleeds into Fall.

Anyone else that lives there want to add anything?

Hehe! Yes We have a family farm in Russell Kansas and would go to visit my grandparents in Salina. it took most of the day just to get to Oklahoma

We had marble size hail last night that broke my rain gauge. I had to move my car last night during the storm to get it out of the hail and ended up sliding into my neighbors storage building. Pause coop projects to fix neighbors shed. Ugh. Anyway, 2 1/2 inches of rain NW of San Antonio.
We got about a half inch of rain this morning in the North Houston Area. We did need some though. Its is cool and nice out now. Kicked into Springtime.

My pen for my chickens is almost done! My cockerel and pullet were happy to have a lot of outside time today... at least till the wind started blowing harder. Our german shepherd started jumping the fence today... =_= should have expected it since the fence on the back of his pen is shorter. He was back playing with the donkeys so he is back on his ground tie for now till we can break him of it... that or put some new fencing up. We shall see... Trying to get everything together and save money to buy my baby chicks from meyer. 16 babies to order <3 two of them are my vets tho, she lost two recently. It is her first time raising chicks, and things happen. One died 12 hours after she got it, the other one died a few days ago due to her heat lamp going out. So I offered to put in two wyandottes on my order for her. =) going to get them up to outside age to give them too her. My cockerel did his job today! He saw a vulture in the sky (thought it was a hawk) and sounded the alarm and sent his one lil hen back to the coop! I was so proud. I don't have a roof on my pen, as it is just fencing to deter the dogs and coyotes. Hopefully I won't have any trouble with the hawks, haven't seen many out here. Anyone in the venus, waxahachie, midlothian area have any hawk problems?
