Texas

I'm tired, I'm grumpy...and, now, I have to go interview some schmuck who thinks he's god's own gift to networking....save me from selfimportant a-holes who think we should hand them jobs on silver platters....

I love the turkeys...the polish are adorable, young....I still hold that I don't care for them when they are older - but, I bet as yours and mine mature I'll change my tune.

N. Korea would not attack Austin with missiles - the missiles would not make it this far before being shot down easily. If they truly wanted to attack, they'd choose another mechanism. I doubt they do, however.

The flowers were so tiny, Yinepu, I wouldn't have considered them pentunias - but, maybe!! Gawd knows I know next to nothing about decorative plants!! They're pretty, though

I love how the coop's coming along Craft. Looking really good. Can't wait to see it when it's done.

We are getting sealant for our coop floor tonight so I can do it this weekend. The kind of stuff you use for garage floors since it's made to withstand all sorts of chemicals and such....Mike's table saw motor should arrive, today, so he should be able to finish up the siding in the next few days. We're dithering on whether we should paint the hotel or leave it the weathered wood. I love how it looks weathered; but,....I dunno. What do you guys think?

With that note, I'm off to interview Self-important Boy.
I think you got everything covered! lol! and your interviewee sounds like out IT guy....never met anyone that knew everything about everything before him...

Lol.. I also suck at child care (no idea what to do with those icky screaming things).. algebra.. (any advanced math really)... real estate boggles the poor little brain cell... I also hate knitting (taught myself a few stitches.. went painfully slow.. gave it up after a very short time)... computers.. (already explained THAT one)...

my dad was a carpenter.. ex was a plumber and electrician.. I am fine with carpentry work (aka wood butchery) and plumbing.. hate electricity (it bites back) though I can wire a lamp and change out outlets and similar things with no issues...
I can do dry wall, painting, shingles, lay slate and ceramic tile, brickwork, cement.. all that sort of thing..
auto repairs were fine when it was a REAL car and not something with lots of electronics and computerized... and I don't change tires.. (but can change the oil if I am forced to)
lawn mowers also get the "computer treatment" when they refuse to start... though I won't throw them through a window.. that would be just silly

I don't do welding.. but I can handle soldering with no problem.. (had to change out a hot water heater solo before)

I can build pens, small barns (though i hate being on the roof.. gravity, like electricity bites back.. but will do it if forced to)

I know survival skills.. can shoot a gun (one of our favorite pastimes) can field dress and butcher pretty much any kind of game as well as preserving their little skulls if I wish to keep them.. I know which plants are edible.. and which will kill you pretty quick. and I also collect (and used to sell) swords and other assorted sharp things (aka cutlery) .. in my younger days I used to practice sword fighting with my ex.. had to give it up when he started looking a bit too much like an easy target (just how much can the stray cats eat if I grind him up.. hmmmm... hence him being my ex and me NOT being incarcerated)

i have been up to my shoulder inside goats giving birth.. an occasional cow and a horse..

roller skates/blades have already told me they want me dead (i am convinced to someday prove them wrong)... I have never set foot on a ski or set my behind on a ski lift.. something about sailing down the side of a mountain in the freezing cold only to have a tree jump out at me just isn't on my bucket list.

I have run around with bikers, watermen, poultrymen, and been around construction most of my life.. though to this day I have 0 interest in learning how to drive a motorcycle or a backhoe.. but I can drive a stick shift car as well as an automatic.
I have tattoos and piercings.. (got my first tattoo at 40 because i was dumb enough to listen to all the naysayers.. wish I had started them much sooner).. and I refuse to set foot in a church (too much of a fire hazard and lightning might strike).. but have been a member of a coven in my distant past

I remember when JFK was shot.. lived through the hippy days and the race riots..

lol. when you get to be an old fart like me.. there isn't much left that you haven't tried at least once.. and the things you have no interest in kinda stay that way!.

Petunias can be small sometimes. Now here's some interesting news: You can put them in a salad. Petunias are edible, and they make a regular old boring salad into something exciting. Not much in the way of taste, but the color just looks awesome.
That would be interesting. I've eaten pumpkin blossoms (fried is awesome), roses and some candied flowers. I'll have to give petunias a try. Thanks for mentioning it.

My new americauna checking out her nest box already! She's 20 weeks

awwww....

btw.. I love your nest boxes from what I can see of them!

i had been using plastic milk type crates.. finally after all this time one of my hens decided to stick her head through a hole and got it stuck.. found her sitting there .. swollen head.. and still very upset and stuck yesterday when I went to feed.. had to grab the tin snips to cut her out

do you have any other pics of your nests?.. I'm looking for better ideas so I can replace the crates before another bird decides to try sticking her head through it too...
