How's y'alls hatches going?

I'm not hatching but did pick up 4 Silver Laced Wyandotte chicks.
Today at the feed store my DW ask for feed without calcium in it so my roos don't get too much, and wanted some oyster shell so the hens could get the calcium they needed. He said that laying crumbles with calcium won't hurt roosters, that they need it to help their crop. She said we give them grit. He said then you don't need oyster shell......Is it me?

went to TSC and got all my feed needs... but forgot to get chick starter!!!! smh... it was right there!!!! in my lane!!! dog gone bator and turner got in my way and i had to put them in my buggy to shut them up! doing so got my mind off the starter! now i must make a trip back out tomorrow!!!

its a 20+min drive!!!!

And this is why I just tell the people at TSC/feed store what I want and don't give them any room to question me. Finally found a feed store that would order me bags of wheat. It's like pulling teeth around here to find what I want to feed our chickens.

I can totally relate to this. I love living in the country but it sucks when I have to drive back into town because I forgot something.

I was just at the Tomball TSC earlier picking up pelleted bedding. Saw a bator in a cart at the register but think it was return from someone. Weekends can turn into feed store marathons have hit 5 feed stores in four counties.

i hatched my first setting of true heritage rhode island reds...real ones...from my hens today...and some ee muts and other mixed egg layers too...chicken math keeps getting in the way of my pen size...lol ..i cant get into my google account to put my pin on the map..almost as far northeast tx as you go..find the east side of lake texarkana thats me...happy hatching everyone

Wow True RIRs??? Do you have pics? They are so pretty, so much more depth to their colors, not so washed out.
