How's y'alls hatches going?

I'm not hatching but did pick up 4 Silver Laced Wyandotte chicks.
Today at the feed store my DW ask for feed without calcium in it so my roos don't get too much, and wanted some oyster shell so the hens could get the calcium they needed. He said that laying crumbles with calcium won't hurt roosters, that they need it to help their crop. She said we give them grit. He said then you don't need oyster shell......Is it me?

Mine is not much further along than it was. But there are now 2 working on it. Really didn't expect them until tomorrow. I want some SLW's Don't want to breed them just want a couple of hens to be pretty in the yard.

Mine seem to hatch a day early often. I got 4 SLWs at the feed store today. They get their chicks from Ideal Poultry. I got these to grow out and sell. SLWs do stand out in a group of chickens.

I am impatient to I am ok with early hatches

. Feed stores around here just have basic breeds from what I have found. I was thinking of getting a few from Ideal.

All of the feed stores I have been to in Houston get their chicks from Ideal. So far the ones I have gotten and grown out have been nice.

I would really like to find someone around me (between Austin and San antonio) to pick up a young 4-10 week old pullet from. Breed preferred EE or BR. I haven't seen anyone post from this area in a while. Any suggestions? I check Craigslist daily....

If everyone survives I'll have australorps, RIR, BR and EE for sale.
I'm keeping 4 australorps,2 BO, 2EE and 2 BR probably. The other two BO are already spoken for.

I may take an EE off your hands. I plan on picking 4 of my 12 current chicks to keep. Then adding 3-4 "purebred" chicks. I've got room for probably 10 comfortable but don't want to fill myself to the Max just yet.
