oh OUCH!.. I have had more than my fair share of broken bones.. and it makes it all that much worse when you can't do the things you are so used to doing on a daily basis. At least he will be in better shape by the time he comes home.. but it's still no fun when you have to hobble around on crutches and have your mobility hindered like that
I think im using the same troughs for my brooder as well! love that thing!
My dad has been in the hospital recovering from a car wreck, which is tough for anybody but especially when you're 87. I just sent him a copy of that picture, and told him I know he's a tough old bird, too!! I know he'll laugh like crazy when he sees that!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Javas are a rare breed that is a dual-purpose (meat and eggs) breed that was considered the finest table fowl in the 1800s and is an excellent homestead bird. They are large birds, good foragers, and do go broody. The APA recognizes Black and Mottled Javas in the SOP, however there are also a few Auburn, White, and Silver Javas that are being worked on (these are even rarer than Blacks and Mottleds). There is also a breeder that has been working on Bantam Javas, however I have not seen a photo of these to see how they turned out.Beautiful chicks. What is a Java? Never heard of that.
I have a iPhone 4 and I don't see how to add pics what button do you push? I'm sorry not that technically advanced.
Love this pic. That's so funny, but so true some weeks.
