i'm what you would call a bit... weird...

I have 0 problems getting between dogs and what they are after.. even aggressive dogs

and especially when they are on my territory....

if I go onto a dog's home turf and they bite me.. then fine.. I was on their property.. but when they venture onto mine.. all bets are off... been there and done it.. and yes.. I have taken a bite and I have a really bad habit of not backing down.. but then again i was raised around guard dogs and BIG dogs with aggression issues.. I've worked as a vet tech, groomer and kennel manager.. and my mother used to do wildlife rescue.. so I have been around all kinds of critters.. and not all were happy campers
Don't think that's weird at all. Of course my husband is a veterinarian and dealing with animals in all kinds of interesting situations is the norm for us. I'm the idiot that runs into the middle of the interstate to rescue an animal. And I will try to work with an aggressive animal to determine the reason for the aggression before just killing it or letting it kill something else.

exactly.. and sometimes that means risking yourself to take that bite... I'm not the kind of person to back down and cringe when there is an aggressive animal around.. someone needs to be the one to step up and risk it.. granted i don't fault those who choose not to put themselves in that situation.. but that's just how I am.. and frankly i would rather tangle with a dozen aggressive dogs than change a diaper on a baby.. cause there is no way I am getting anywhere near THAT!

nope.. never changed a diaper on a baby.. and no one can make me!

X2..

No clue :(. She has been acting normal. Husband let them out this morning, and said she was sitting under the roost in a poop pan. Everyone came out, so he went in to get her and she was super weak. He got her take a few sips of water, then set her on the ground. She kinda flopped over and looked like she had a seizure and died. He said she was really, really skinny. So I think my game birds had been chasing her off feed more than I thought. They really picked on her. :( I just made him go out and help me put a hand on everyone else. My RIR is little skinnier than everyone else. So tomorrow morning I'm going to put out another feeder.

So it happened to me. Stopped by the feed store to get a 12" feeder and left with...6 new baby chicks and a 12" feeder! They had week old chicks that id been wanting...left with 3 silver laced wyandotte pullets and a trio of assorted crested lf breeds. The guy helping was feather sexung as he pulled them out si as taking that as it is for accuracy.

The crested looks like i have a buff polish, maybe a white crested black polish, and maybe a houdan...gotta compare some more pics this evening.

Those are the ones i left, i passed up some turkens, silkies, assorted feather footed bantams, ee's and sime br and ba and production reds! They had a great spread going on, im just glad i limited to 6!

You should have grabbed the Turkens, I bought 3 and they are the sweetest, most docile babies.

I made it another weekend and didn't go to TSC.

My husband actually went by, today. We never go there; but, he was making a doggie wheelchair for a friend of mine's dog and needed a certain type wheel. After poking around everywhere, he thought of trying TSC. They had exactly what he needed....of course, one of the places he stopped by other than TSC was Georgetown Farm Supply...and, I wound up with four guinea fowl....he can't blame me this time!!!

I'm a Texan and have started out with Speckled Sussex chicks and am adding bit more of other chicken breeds like Silkies and Polish
