Well, met someone the other day who needs an egg supplier and suddenly, I've talked myself into the dark side!!! Just set an order with McMurry for April 15th. Gonna try to hatch some of my own girls' eggs too. Since my roo is an EE, I think I got a good chance of all the hens I get from the incubated eggs growing up to lay green eggs.

Whew! I think I'm gonna kick a horse out of a stall and use that for an expanded coop.

These chickens sure are addicting!!

i Hear ya, left the feed store with 6 new chicks last nite too....so now i have 2 brooders going!

Only 2??.. give it time.. there have been times where I have had 10 brooders running at the same time.. and probably will this spring too
IM still a first timer so 2 brooders is kinda the deep end for me right now, lol. Been poking around through pic to try and figure out what my 3 random crested breeds might be and i THINK i have a buff laced polish (roo according to the quick feather sex the guy gave them at the store), a white crested black (pullet, with same disclaimer) and the 3rd which i think just might be a Crevecoeur which could be really cool!

I know i been slacking on the pictures...im hoping to get a batch uploaded soon but am super curious to what they are if any of yall have experience once you can see them!

I thought a Robin must have flown into the coop yesterday. The blue egg is from one of my EEs that usually lay a normal size egg. That's a nickle laying next to it.

Also got the waterer and feeder made in the chicken tractor.

Here in Glen Rose the wind is blowing pretty hard. But I live on top of a hill, it's ALWAYS blowing. Neat thing is though it keeps the chickens pretty much in the backyard because it will blow all but my biggest one across the yard.

Lol.. no diapers are "fine"... I'm highly allergic to children.. always have been. My mother used to enjoy relating a tale about me as a baby. if someone brought in a jar of spiders or any kind of critter i would go crawl over to it with no issues at all.. but if they brought in another baby or child I would leave the room!
I've never held a baby.. never touched one.. they give me the creeps.. yet the darn things are like cats when they are around a cat hater... kids are attracted to me and will go out of their way to try to climb on my or touch me. I have been known to clear furniture to get away from them.. I'm not afraid of them.. I just think they are creepy, icky creatures and i don't want them around me. (yup.. told y'all that I'm weird)
It's to the point where if we have company come over they know they are welcome to bring their pets.. just leave their kids at home!
cecal poo is no big deal to me.. neither are sloppy cow pies or dogs with the parvo runs or any other smelly gooey goodies (as a hobby i clean skulls and bones that are partially rotted.. lol)... all of that washes off.. child goo sticks forever!

Don't think you're weird at all. Frankly I get tired of people acting like I'm a criminal because I don't have children and then trying to convince me that I should.

I've gotten two or three tiny eggs like that. I remember one had white but no yolk.

The chicken tractor looks good. Wish we could have something so light weight, but the wind has pushed our heavy tractors around in the pasture before, something this light would fly off to Oz if we put that in our pasture.
