Hi Boydfarm and welcome to the Texas thread. I live just a little east of Taylor, so not too far from you. Do you have any chickens now or are you reading up before making your acquisition (like so many of the rest of us)?

they only get to be 5 to 6 feet tall.. and those two evil boys are the biggest snuggle puppies you would ever meet.. they put my dogs and geese to shame!.. both of them LOVE hugs.. and will put their heads on my shoulder and fall asleep while they are getting petted.

of all the ratites . emus are the friendliest. an adult male ostrich has no problems with attacking and even killing a person.. cassowary are even worse.

lol... 7 foot chicken.. try 6 foot dinosaur instead!

Maybe someday I'll have room for something like that. I would for sure give them a try. I think a couple of turkeys this year will be pushing it.

Hi everyone. I have a silver laced polish rooster and was wondering if anyone knows where I might be able to get two polish hens. I live in Talco which is about three hours from Dallas and 75 miles from Tyler, so i could make a weekend trip if anyone has any they may be willing to part with. Thanks in advance

I have some 4 day old Silver Laced Gold Laced Buff Laced and White crested Black pullets but I am just a little North of San Antonio. Pretty far but if you don't find any closer and come down this way sometime you can get them here

I wish I could have saved the vent sexing pics and gotten them posted before the old hard drive died... so i am going to attempt taking pics of these guys when I vent sex them.. only problem will be trying to hold them.. vent sex and take pics by myself since my husband is deployed.

I would love to help! i wanna learn all that goodness....not sure if thats in the cards though...but i did take photgraphy in school, think about it!
