Texas

Lemme know if you find any. no where up by home has any currently.
The feed store on Jensen Drive had Rock Cornish, Asst Bantams, BR Pullets, RIR pullets and ducks.
And I didn't git nothin. But tomorrow we are picking up a new trio of Lav Ameraucanas.

Could still use a little of that rain that might be on the way. From the two lines that blew through, we got less than 1/2". Nothing's sadder looking than a wet chicken.
We got 2 " here. Looks like more on the way. I'm good! Blowing it y'alls way!!

i am up to 7 now...i cant have another dog! chickens though....im still browing CL and shopping for whatever i can find local! Think i mighta got a hit on some BCM's!

my husband and I both agree.. once these guys go back home with their daddy's.. we aren't doggy sitting again!

9 months to a year at a time gets to be a bit long.. I know it helps out the guys who are deployed.. but it's just a lot of work to deal with (especially when it's hatching season!.. oh wait.. that's all year around here...

I haven't gotten an Ameraucana eggs in a while. They were starting to lay great after winter and then they stopped. Yesterday we were trying to figure out what had changed or what we were doing differently. My DW said that I had taken the radio that I had hanging in the coop to play while I am out there, out. I leave it on a lot of the time. A few chicks had gotten big enough to fly up and sit on it and poop on it so I took it out.
I put it back in yesterday and turned it on and left it. Low and behold, I got my first blue egg in 10 days today.

Coincidence?

And they seem to prefer classic country

They just have good taste. Mine are down an egg a day which I contribute to the sloppy weather. I wouldn't want to lay now either. I was late letting them out to free range this afternoon and they were all huddled at the gate waiting to be let out. They sure have fallen into a routine and I'm good with that.

So i am parked on I-45 right now....how i hate the idiots that cause such accidents!! I literally want to slap everyone of them on top of their heads, take away their DL's!! Im so **** irritated right now...5 ft in the last 20 minutes!! Ugh!!!!

when that happens to me it's usually because of the rain

for some reason it scares Texas drivers a bit too much..

"OMG what is this WET STUFF!!!

you would think the sky was falling or something....

I hate to go out when it's raining for that very reason... they drop down to 15 mph in a 70... even when it's just a light sprinkle...
I just have to shake my head and sigh....

Good Morning!!!

I am able to get online--computer has been down since early morning. Thank you RachaelS for fanning the wind/rain toward Houston!!! Next time, don't fan the winds so hard. It uprooted one of our newly planted trees from last year (8 ft. tall) and brought a big tree down by the chicken coop. The girls are fine but it took one side of the fence down.

I had to cancel my hand therapy to clean the mess up. I have our tractor holding the tree up till my DH comes home from work. I was able to clean up around the coop but with only one hand in commission, I can't start up the chainsaw. Trust me, I was trying to figure out how to do it one-handed.

Lisa :)
LOL, beggars can't be choosers,
