Texas

Totally understand! That is a bit more than what I was looking for.. I don't think I could fit all (especially the turkeys too) in the van especially that far.. would be funny to watch hubby trying though!

so keep us posted if you want to divide them!
I don't mind dividing if i can make sure they all have a home first. doesn't have to be the same home, just a home. and maybe pics for the ones not eaten. eta, the Turkeys are insanely social. they think they are puppies and bark at strangers

Oh I wish you were closer as then we could make more than one trip! I would LOVE turkeys too! Hubby tried to get one when we got our chicks.. I had to say not now dear.. I haven't been around turkeys here (only growing up) any idea do they do with snakes? do they act like a chicken or more like a guinea? are they more or a protector of the flock or like a lap dog? lol. We are still in the making of our big coops.. trying to make sure no predators get near so I am not quite sure on the timing.. we still have a couple more weeks to finish.. hubby works 12-14 hr shifts so I am SLOW without his help

what are you up to now? I am so jealous.. lol.. I am not even sure I have a girl!

Sure wish roos gave eggs!
Lol :) I'm up to no good. As always! I like buying chickens. It's really said. My husband (the warden) told me he was going to put a "chicken express" sticker on my truck. (For those not near hwy 281, it's a chicken restaraunt)

ROFL! What you are saying is that it's a good thing I can't seem to find many right here? I could DEF see how this could get out of hand! Chickens are def like potato chips and you literally can not have more than one (or 5)! Guess I am lucky that hubby is addicted as I am!

Husband raised 4-H birds, but isn't as attached to my birds as his horse lol. He could really care less about my breeding project. He just smiles and nods. Smart man really.

There prob are.. I am just not sure where! We are new here (moved in April) so this is all double new to me! Our CL has very few locally.. a few other 'hatchery' type.. I looked at one add that was almost 5 hours away! Of course it's HOT so maybe not the time to look? not sure! I have no problems with buying from a feed store (and a GOOD hatchery.. good as in I won't help support someone who has 50 birds in a tiny cage ya know).. just didn't have much luck this go from the one in B/CL.. Aww I totally forgot about Texasmja! Thanks for the reminder! About to update my babies with pics.. but pretty sure I have at least 4 roos! 'baby' is really my only hope now but I am not sure on her either!

If you get feed store birds, you'll be getting hatchery birds. If you don't mind that, get a phone book and start calling feed stores to see if they have chicks and what kind.
