Texas

Sorry SBM about your chicks, I know you were so excited about them, so sad!

Is anyone else having issues posting pics today? I can't post from my iPad or my laptop, or my desktop, or my phone!

Set a trap and see whatcha get! It's like Texas style Russian roulette.

Opossums will eat chickens, though not as happily as a fing coon. But they aren't as distructive. I would imagine it could be anything. Rabbit, deer, coon, opossum. Set a trap and see whatcha get! It's like Texas style Russian roulette.

Ya, but then I'd have to do something with it. I'm a live and let live kind of person.

My garden is fenced maybe 7 feet with chicken wire. The animal has climbed over the top which has wire on it to keep out the peacocks next door. A raccoon or opossum would have no trouble climbing in my garden, but the gate keeps the deer out.

One of my little mini Dachshunds (8 pounds) had something cornered under the shed next door that is just a few feet from my garden. It sounded like a big animal, a lot bigger than the dog. There was a lot of noises, huffing and squealing, that made me think of weasel kind of sounds. I thought skunk, but there was no odor. The dog came out after about an hour with no fur stuck in her teeth so I don't think she did anything other than harass the poor thing. The fact the dog came out at all, let alone with no bites, tells me it wasn't a raccoon. It wasn't a cat, either.

Besides eating the cantaloups and watermelon, this animal is nibbling at ripe tomatoes. Opossum?

A possum has very sharp teeth, I'm surprised it didn't hurt that little dog if it was a possum. Possums will kill chickens at night if they can get into the coop. I don't know what kind of animal besides the chickens that would be eating all that produce :idunno
