One of my favs was the string of posts about all the fresh herbs in the nest boxes so the hens are calm while laying. Shoot, I wish my house smelled of lavender and mint everyday when I got home... Why should my hens get spa treatments when I don't? Smh...
I AM NOT growing herbs for them to throw out of the nests on the floor of the coop or to eat them.

I am not serving them a buffet, eat the food out of the feeder and whatever they can find as they forage and call it good. They are just chickens.

The whole thing just makes me giggle, if you want to talk about natural chicken keeping then that's fine, but when you are implementing practices into your chicken keeping that are far from natural, don't get mad when someone points it out! My sister does the natural thing, but she does it all the way, I told her about the discussion and she just laughed.

I'm just glad you said something first. I've been think this for awhile now. Their "natural" has morphed into the trendy version of "organic" - which is fine, for them. Just call it what it is.

Who......me?
