We got our first egg today from one of our girls. I think it is from one of the barred rocks but not sure. Any ideas?

Is that egg burnt orange?

Lord I hope not. I haven't been home yet. I would hate to have to disown one of my girls for a little mistake like that, but some things we just can't stand for.

Thanks guys for responding. I love my chickens but consider them a bit more livestock than pets. We eat our culls. And then miss peanut came to live with us. She is a lap chicken. Don't tell I've gone soft.

We will know after it hatches. Taking sides that the chick will have horns and not bark!
