Humm.. it should! Turmeric is awesome for so many things!
I used some oh can't think.. root booster stuff this spring.. did an experiment with half the powder and half just a jar of water.. they both rooted about the same! I had planted seeds last winter and was being lazy about getting the plants in the ground.. then we decided to move so I kept them all inside! By moving time they were HUGE! I cut them all down and ended up with 20 plants! Between the grasshoppers, rabbits, cows and deer (I think that is what it was.. lol) I only have a couple left but they are healthy so I want to cut them and move them to a safer, less grassy area like in the yard! lol. At this point, they either take or don't.
Question.. do the yellows bother you as much as the reds? I have kept my own seeds for years now and haven't bought any new but have been thinking about adding some yellow just wasn't sure. The kids love them so we just HAVE to have tomatoes.. lol
I don't know about the yellows. I tried some heirloom purples this year but they did not make it. I do know that for some reason my body can handle purple potatoes better, so with that leap of logic made we wanted to try the purple tomatoes also tried tomatillas not sure if I spelled that right. Neither of those two varieties made it. I have not been as loving with my food crop this year as I have been with my ornamentals though.

I have read that in the past tomatoes where only grown as ornamentals and farmers stayed clear of them because of the toxic nature to livestock, so I don't think the older varieties are any better. I would love to be proven wrong but after eliminating this stuff the immediate pain factor keeps me from wanting them so much.

One thing I have learned with mine is I have to eat a very alkaline diet or OUCH! Main reason I live off Kombucha!

Making a wet paste out of it and giving it to them in a bowl cuts out the waste. Downside of this is that you can't just fill up the feeder and forget it. You have to feed them once or twice a day this way. But it does cut the waste almost all the way to zero and if you have wild birds getting in the food, they won't get in the wet food.
Well, I already go out there before work, after work to let them free range, then before bed to close their coop after they've settled onto their roosts for the night. I open their feeders between morning and coming home from work then I close them the rest of the night. So it wouldn't be an issue to feed them with paste. Thanks for the suggestion. How do I know how much to give 15 chickens of the paste though?

Thank you for your concern. I am okay. I am a full time minister and have been the director of the Good News Camp where I have been living and raising my chickens ( as a side hobby) for the last six years. Without going into detail, God is calling me to a different kind of ministry and will no longer have the time to properly care for my birds.

Nuff said I applaud you for your service :bow & you have some beautiful stock :)
