I thought that at first.....but then come to find out that this teacher has had "issues" with other parents as well. She was confrontational before I was, and I think that is what got me so wound up. A teacher should not be disrespectful to a parent, especially in front of their children. When she said, Look I don't know who you are so you won't be able to take your kids unless signing them out, I was ok. I then told her I would just stay til their teacher came out. She then said that if I didn't come to the office with her I would be escorted off school property. What? I was polite til that point. I went to the office, told her and the principal the next time she tried to withhold my children I would call the cops. The principal, who is a very nice person, apologized when I told her everything that had happened. Said this teacher had already had "issues" with other parents (rude behavior), and that she may not be staying on. This is a Kindergarten teacher. I wouldn't want my kid in her class with her acting that way.

Makes me want to home school them!  No indoctrination that way either!  Though out here in Podunk that is less of a problem than elsewhere.  But then I remember I have zero patience when trying to explain something and realize I will just have to deal with it.

Home school is the way to go these days. It is getting crazy out there. My niece took her kids out of Midland ISd a couple years ago. You will not believe why! She got a call from the principle asking to come to school. When she got there, she was told that her 8 year old daughter was suspended from school for a week for resisting the romantic advances of a boy. But the truth is that it was not a boy. It was a girl with two lesbian moms that had convinced her that she was a boy. The school district threatened my niece with legal action against her if her daughter continued to reject this girls advances. I AM NOT KIDDING!

I home schooled my kids. My daughter is in her third year of med school at UTMB Galveston. Guess I did not do too bad of a job.

Mandy, Now I'm having flashbacks of my horrible Kindergarten teacher in Oakwood, Illinois.

Good for you for taking a stand!
