My lil ranch is frozen. I'm frozen. Husband and kiddo are both sick. Horses haven't come out from their blankets. Chickens aren't laying at all. 1 lil pullet egg only

Yes, they actually live in the house. Haha. I know it's a little unusual, or very, depending on who you talk to.. But they are house chickens. Wonderful pets, actually

They have a huge fenced in backyard, and get as much outside time as they want, but they sleep in the house. And yes, of course I cuddle with them, pet them, and talk to them. They get along wonderfully with the dogs and the cat, and they're just awesome to have around. I love the hell out of my chickens

How do u keep them from pooping everywhere? I have one who acts like she'd like to come in and check things out but she's too skittish. Won't take the plunge to take that first step inside.

Surprisingly, they're very nearly house trained. When the weather is right, I just leave the back door open, and they kind of know to poop outside. Also, they have a coop inside the house with a tray to catch everything else. I might have to clean up a turd or two a day, but that's usually it.

What breeds do you keep? I love my chickens too. They truly are my therapy. I have 4 Buff Orpingtons, 2 lace-winged Wyandottes, 1 barred rock and a Rhode Island White. There are so many different breeds I would love to own, but I think I am at my limit. HOA has tried to make me get rid of the ones I have, but they really are my therapy.

So what's your max and what's your list like so far? I started out with a white leg horn cause they are the best layers and a Plymouth barred rock. That was in oct. My PBR died from unknown causes rt before thanksgiving and the next weekend I got 2 americaunas and a black australorp. No eggs yet but the chickens are fun!! 4 is my limit tho
