What breeds do you keep? I love my chickens too. They truly are my therapy. I have 4 Buff Orpingtons, 2 lace-winged Wyandottes, 1 barred rock and a Rhode Island White. There are so many different breeds I would love to own, but I think I am at my limit. HOA has tried to make me get rid of the ones I have, but they really are my therapy.

Beautiful! I especially love lace-winged Wyandottes! I'm strictly bantam breeds at the moment. I guess now I get to show off my kids, huh? :D

This is Phantom! He's a 5 month old Silver Partridge Silkie. He is the sweetest rooster I've ever even heard of. Had him since he was about 10 days old. He gets along with absolutely everything and everyone. We spend a lot of time watching movies on the couch on my days off. Haha.

Meet Polka Dot (that was her name when I got her, so I kept it)! She's a 1 year old Sizzle, but as you can see, has normal feathers.

I've never seen another one like her, and she is the best adopted mommy in the universe to:

These little monsters! Pearl and Onyx (not sure about keeping those names, but they'll do for now). As you may have suspected, they are a Porcelain d'uccle and a Frizzled Cochin! They're just over 5 weeks old, and Onyx is already crowing. Seriously. At least he's trying as hard as he can. He follows Phantom absolutely EVERYWHERE, and tries to mimic everything he does. Phantom was an early crower as well... 8 weeks to the day.

Other than that, I've got two Golden Sebrights, and 5 Mille Fleur D'uccles who were hatched on 11/26. They're in the brooder at the moment. Will probably keep both Sebrights, and one or two D'uccles. Man, that's gonna be a hard decision! Look how cute!

Oh, and I've got two silkie eggs on day 13 in the incubator!!! :D

That's it! Sorry for the gigantic post, guys. :)

Surprisingly, they're very nearly house trained. When the weather is right, I just leave the back door open, and they kind of know to poop outside. Also, they have a coop inside the house with a tray to catch everything else. I might have to clean up a turd or two a day, but that's usually it.

My chickens poop on everything outside and they have 3 acres to roam on in the backyard. I can't imagine what they would do in the house. My Mom's dog thinks it's her job to keep them off the back porch.

Oh the chicks are hard to leave at the store. My BOSS are always going broodie. 3 of the 4 I have gotten 2 to 3 day old chicks to raise.
