Good morning, everyone!
I watched my first baby hatch around midnight. It was something I'll never forget. It was a very special and awe-inspiring thing. Feeling all warm and fuzzy this morning... Much like my little Silkie baby, actually
I'd throw a picture up here, but I'm unable to. For some reason, BYC doesn't let me post pictures anymore!
It's called Water Surface. I will either paint the trim Powdered Snow or Silver Sky.In the photos it looks white...wasn't it white before?
EDITED: My computer opened the photos as small the first time. Now it opened them as large photos...is the color a minty green? ....or is that my computer again.
What color are you going to do the trim in?
No, that wasn't boring at all! Very interesting, in fact and how very nice for the vet to take the time to teach you, too. The birds in the photo are beautiful, too. You can see how attentive their owners are. It reminds me a little bit of a car club in the US...everyone bringing their "babies" to put on display!![]()
Great photo and story.
JaJeanPierre - I uploaded the video today of the white/muted colored hawk...first time I've done that so I hope it works. Edited: I was about a full football field away, so the picture is not the best.

Thank you! It looks like a Red Tailed hawk to me. Have you seen it again? I can send it to Jaime and ask him, but he's on a hunting trip in Pakistan.
Yes, I believe it is a Red Tailed. I have another video where I can clearly see very faint horizontal stripes running across the tail.
I thought I saw the hawk yesterday but I didn't take time to sit and watch. It was this time last year that the video was taken and he seemed to like our back wooded area but he never came close to the house or the chickens.
Maybe this year I can get closer for a better photo.
Hawk trivia: You know that scary screeching eagle cry you hear in movies? That's a red tailed hawk call. Real eagles have an incredibly wimpy little chirp or yelp.
