I made a new poncho today. Remember I said I wanted a bright colorful one? These are so warm. I found these for sale on etsy - not the same edge finish as I have though - for $30 or more. If there weren't hundreds of pages of them for sale on etsy I would consider selling them there too.

Nice job. Throwback to the late 60's. I think my sister had one just like it. Or I saw it on Mod Squad. I bet that is comfortable and cozy.

What are the thoughts on this coop?
Enough ventilation do you think..or I guess you can't really tell from this picture..
We're finalizing our coop plans tonight so we can hopefully start the buying tomorrow and construction this weekend!
I'm having a hard time deciding but I love the clean lines on this one, and it seems easy enough

I'm thinking of adding a dutch door, so I can give treats and such without them rushing me.
And maybe a bigger run if we can swing it. This is only 4x12, which isn't enough for 7 (5 large, 2 bantams). Everything else is pretty great.
At least it seems like it to me, with my limited knowledge.

I am going to send my daughter in law the link to this plan. I really like it.

Just got my phone fixed and thought I'd make a post!

It was cold and rainy today, so I made a big brooder out of a lawn mower box for the Wyandottes and Ameraucanas, but I couldn't find a tarp for the quail, so I brought them in, too. Then Salazar -aka New Year's Eve Chick- was watching me from the door. I couldn't resist bringing him in. He's never with the flock and looked so cold me lonely!

Here they are!

They have all been isolated from other birds, so it looks like it's working out. Salazar really likes hanging out with the smaller chicks. He was resting his wings on top of the Wyandottes, keeping them cozy. The Ameraucanas rest under the Wyandottes, so we have a decent hierarchy now, haha!

The quail hate everyone, hehe!

Thank you for all the compliments on my poncho. Yes, the fabric reminded me of the 1960's/early 70's too. At least that is what the TV shows and movies portray.

I made this tonight. And yes, this is something that really bothers me. I'm not as bad as Monk though.

Mom had a spice shelf similar to that when I was small. All the containers got broken, but I still have the shelf.

Good Morning Fellow Texans!

Ms JellyBean I have the same dilemma. All of my spices are in alphabetical order. I had a 'friend' come into my kitchen one day and had the gall to tell me I had too much time on my hands because I alphabetize my seasonings. It works for me!

Aahhhccckkkkk!!! The power just went out in our neighborhood! I have 17 chicks trying to stay warm in brooder, one still hatching and 12 more eggs still in incubator!!! WORST timing ever!!!
