Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers. It is very appreciative. I went out this morning and found 3 of the 4 that were missing dead. I am missing my petite speckled sussex. Once I warm up, I will head out again and see if I can find her.

I hope she made it ok. My mom in Athens says it is just terrible!

Thank you she made it to work. She said the roads was ok just had to go slow. The only place she had any problems was right there at the hospital going up that hill. I tried to get her to stay home until the sun came up but she would not. And they say us men are hard headed

We may hit 32 today, but then refreeze everything tonight. I remember turning on the ac last year in March.

DH and I were gone all day today. We just got home about an hour ago to a massacre. As of right now out of 14 chickens, we have 2 left. We found 8 dead scattered throughout the property along with a dead rabbit (whole). 4 are missing. Hoping they will show up tomorrow. I am just sick about this.

So sorry this happened to you Lisa! Hopefully you will be able to find your missing chicken.

Schools are closed today in whitehouse. Is 16 here and ice everywhere. Took me almost an hour to clean the ice off the wife's car so she could go to work. Tryed to talk her into stay home but she says she just can not. She works up in Tyler at mother Frances Hospital as a admissions transporter and has to be there at 5am.

So glad she made it safely to work. That hill at Mother Frances is pretty steep!


Cold here this morning. Temp of 22 on the porch, the shop was a toasty 29! The chicks seem to be handleing the weather fine. All were under the heat plate this morning, but came out to eat/drink when I opened the top of their brooder.

Looks like we may have another round coming through tonight. This time further south. Stay warm everyone!

TSC in Georgetown had at least 2 of them yesterday and egg turners
